Attachments Overview
Attachments in Thevenin are external resources that you connect to your applications at runtime. They provide persistent storage (Volumes), configuration (Variable Sets), and static content (Files), enabling you to decouple these components from your application's code. This section covers the different types of Attachments you can configure and manage.
Types of Attachments
Volumes
Persistent storage for your applications that survives container restarts. Volumes allow you to store data that persists even when containers are stopped or recreated, making them ideal for databases, uploaded files, and application state.
Variable Sets
Collections of environment variables and configuration that can be shared across applications. Variable sets help you manage configuration centrally and maintain consistency across your deployments.
Files
Static files and configuration content that can be mounted into your containers. Files allow you to manage configuration files, scripts, SSL certificates, and other static content that your applications need at runtime.
Resource Management
Attachments are created once and can be:
- Shared across multiple applications
- Versioned for tracking changes
- Secured with access controls
- Monitored for usage and performance
