Introduction to Thevenin

Welcome to Thevenin, a Platform as a Service (PaaS) designed to simplify the deployment and management of multi-tier applications.

What does Thevenin do​

Thevenin provides developers and teams with a streamlined platform to deploy, run, and scale applications without the complexity of managing infrastructure while enforcing the security and reliability standards of enterprise companies.

Thevenin handles the platform so you can focus on building great software.

Key Features​

Simple Application Deployment​

Deploy containerized applications using Docker images. Specify your container image and configuration, and Thevenin handles the rest.

Environment Management​

Create isolated environments for development, staging, and production. Each environment can have its own configurations and resource allocations.

Application Attachments​

Configure and manage attachments for your applications:

  • Volumes: Persistent storage for your containerized applications
  • Variable Sets: Environment variables and configuration management
  • Files: STatic files for configurations and scripts.

Real-time Monitoring​

Track your application's health and performance with built-in logging and real-time updates.

Security & Isolation​

Built-in zero-trust security features:

  • Environment network isolation: Applications are only able to connect to other apps in the same environment and the internet. Powered by eBPF Policies.

  • Container Sandbox Isolation: All containers are isolated with gVisor by intercepting all application system calls to the kernel, it protects the host from the application. If you think you are facing issues related to sandboxing, check which syscalls are supported.

  • Encrypted Volumes: All Volumes are encrypted with the Cloud Provider's Key Management Service.

  • Enforced MFA on all users: All users need to use MFA to deploy resources in Thevenin. This makes the platform resilient against bots and impersonation attacks. Powered by Ory.

  • Encrypted Files and Variables: All files and variables are encrypted in our system using age key.

  • TLS endpoints: All TCP, HTTP and GRPC exposed to the cloud are protected with TLS using LetsEncrypt Certificates.

  • mTLS for Prod Tier Applications: In our Prod Tier all applications communicate through mTLS, encrypting all traffic. This is powered by Istio.
